Founded in 2004 as a not for profit corporation, the Anclote Key Anglers (AKA) is a fishing club with a four-prong focus: Fishing, Family, Education, and Charity. By-laws have been adopted to ensure that the ideals on which the club was formed will be followed in both the present and the future. We see fishing as a pursuit of happiness that can bond families and sustain life-long friendships. Educational seminars and outings, picnics and tournaments, and volunteering with other not for profit organizations involves us in our community. Donating time and money to worthwhile charities further solidifies our commitment to our ideals.
Because it’s all about fishing, we will hold tournaments and encourage our anglers to participate in other area tournaments. Our tournaments are open to the public with fees for members and nonmembers. (It pays to be a member!) A seminar, clinic, or guest speaker is part of each monthly meeting and often reflects the target of the next tournament.
Charities supported by AKA -
Blooming Place for Kids - a shelter for abused/neglected children
Make a Wish Foundation - an organization that grants wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions
The Shepherd Center - an organization helping homeless and disadvantaged The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast - cares for the terminally ill
We support other charities as well.
